Also keep in mind this verse,”For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,£ neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

  19. Kevin, Hope all is going as well as it sounds like from reading all the blogs. We are just fine here, I really need to proof the bulletin, but this site is just more fun. Thanks for being such a great leader, I am eager to hear all the stories…..God bless you all, Carole

  20. Kevin, you are one of the Van Enk family’s favorite people….

  21. Hi Kevin, It is exciting to read about everyone’s drive to complete their daily tasks and enfold the amazing people of Guatemala. Although I enjoy the photos that were posted, the thing that I am touched by the most is the description of your team members when they share how powerful your evening time of worship is. Nothing touches me more than the voices of his children praising HIS name….I am truely jealous that I can’t be there to sing with all of you. I promise to pray for you daily for health, strength, wisdom, and opportunity. Keep up the amazing mission, Kev! In Christ, Judy

  22. Kevin:
After reading the group’s report of your days and nights, I know that our prayers are being answered–lives and hearts of BOTH Americans and Guatemalans are being changed! God is great and God is good! Know that our prayers continue to be with you all.
    The Dooleys
    Proverbs 27:19
As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflect the man.

  27. Kevin…..Thanks for putting together a great experience for this group…It sound like all is going well, and as always God’s will is being done…The group certainly has an army of Prayer Warriors…On a lighter note, thanks for letting the Boys win in Cards, but their heads are starting to get to where their hats won’t fit…You have my permission to “Toast” them next game…Remember, OLD GUYS RULE!…..A fellow servant…

  28. Kevin, wow last night we were reflecting on how many amazing things God does through the work in Guatemala and it is humbling. We just say thanks to you and to Dan and Heidi and all the people there for continuing to allow our church this opportunity. I feel like this web-site alone is such a testimony ! , and it will really be fun to go to church on Sunday to share stories with all the other families who have been impacted by the trip just through the web-site. What a mighty God we serve ! Thanks for your part in all of this. Stay healthy, Bob and Carole and Dixon

  29. Kevin!
Tried to write before and it didn’t go through. I’m trying again. It’s hard to believe it’s almost time to get back on that plane again. Looks like everything has gone well. Lots of smiling faces. Did you get to see my baby too? Wish I was there. Keeping you and the team in my prayers. Sheri Jurgens

  35. Thanks for all your prayers. It is now 4:00 PM on Saturday and I am here back at the mission wishing that I were at the village with the rest of the group. It is just one of those things that some of us go through and a sacrifice that is well worth the lives that we can change. I am feeling a lot better and I am sure I will be back to par tomorrow. Brandon, Lauren and my wife also got hit and have stayed behind. Please pray for them! Thank you to so many of you for all the encouraging words in your posts. God is again doing amazing things here! God Bless!

[Josh, Chris, Katie Jo -I miss you guys a ton -thanks for your note. I’m sure that you are having a blast with Nana and Papa. Make sure you take Papa fishing to Carole’s lake. I love you guys a tone. Pete and Kath -Thanks for taking care of the kids and allowing us to do this -you guys are awesome! Kevin

  36. Kevin, Thanks for taking care of Brandon. His worst fear was of getting sick. Go figure that he would be one of the ones to get sick. I.m glad to hear you are feeling better aand I pray everyone can go to the village tommorrow. Thank-you so much for the work you do. You truly are a blessing to so many people. Take care, Beth Goeman

  37. kev,

    Aaron

  38. Dear Kevin –
Yes I know – it is almost 3AM but I am at work and my patients are sleeping at the moment. We are praying constantly for everyone and hope those who have fallen ill are starting to feel somewhat better. The “ripples” are awesome. I work at Zeeland Community Hospital with Dr. Steve and Linda Verkaik, RN – they were with you guys back in Jan/Feb with those from Ivanrest and Immanual in Hudsonville. I have been keeping them updated and they wanted me to tell you that they are praying for you guys. And Marijke’s aunt is a Med Tech here and also has been there several times and knows Dan and Heidi well. She is also praying. This goes so much further than Grandville!! Please be assured of our continued thoughts and prayers. Our God Reigns! Beth VandenBosch (and the rest of the V.B.’s)

  39. Hi Kevin,
So sorry to hear you are sick!! Aaron and I will be praying that you feel well so you can enjoy the rest of your time there. We were talking the other day and both agreed that you are a huge part in making the trip the experience that it is. Thanks for all the work you do in helping people have such an amazing and life changing experience. Have a great day!
    love and prayers,
    Leah and Aaron

  40. Kevin,
In about 20 minutes you will have your devotions with your team. It sounds like everyone has grown spiritually. We are grateful for how you are leading them.

Pete and Kathy dropped off the kids for a couple of hours this afternoon so they could do a little shopping and pick up some things they had left here Saturday. We played a bunch of games and Josh plastered my shoulder with a juggling ball–ouch! I forgave him. Kathy is trying to do some nice things for Kristy. I hope she will just thank her mom.

Hope and pray your trip home goes well and safely. What time is your flight due to arrive in GR?

    See you soon.

    Love, Mom

  41. Kevin,
The trip is almost over and I’m sure you are exhausted, excited, awed, and energized all at the same time. Prayers continue for you all to get healthy and have a safe trip back. I pray that your lives will impact the rest of us who are at home, and empower us to give of ourselves as well. I can hear the love in Kristy’s post to each of the kids and parents. She is an amazing encourager and her love for everyone around her is evident. What a great team you 2 make!

  42. Kev,
I just wanted to say good night to you. I think I finally have everyone packed and ready to go tomorrow morning. The kids are excited and are doing great.

It is so hard not knowing what is going on down there. We heard that Dan has taken a turn for the worse and they are trying to med-evac him out of Guate. I am so sorry! There are so many people praying, it was even on the radio today! I know that the money will be there for him to come home, I just pray that the Doctors will be able to figure out what is going on and treat him. How is Heidi doing? Is she feeling any better? Please let her know that she is surrounded by prayer as well.

I love you and I am so glad that you are able to be there to help them! You will do a great job. I prayed tonight when I thought you would be having your first team time. I pray that it went well and you didn’t break too many strings! 🙂 Have a good day tomorrow on the first building day! Hug some kids for me!
I love you more! ~ Kristy

  43. Kevin I am praying for you as I know this is stressfull with them trying to get Dan outta there. I pray that you connect well with the team adn that you have strength and health. Dont break your G-string!!! 🙂 Love ya man
    Jason

  44. Kevin,
We’re so thankful that you could go to help out there. I’m sure Heidi is so relieved. We’re praying for you, and Dan and Heidi.
Hopefully the money will come in today, so that the flight home for them can happen right away.

    Lar and Mar

  45. Hi Kevin

  46. Kevin, I just got done running and i thought i would write you. I just want you to know that ive been praying for you and the teams. Dan told me he saw you Monday, but was still fighting a high fever at that time. I talked to Dan on Tuesday night around 8pm Guatemala time. I had the opportunity to pray for him over the phone. I love that man of God so much, i wish there was more i could do. I know as well as Dan knows that God is in control and that is really all we can do is lean on him. Thanks so much for your willingness to serve GOD a such short notice, putting your family second, which is not always easy. You continue to inspire me as you live your life for CHRIST. I love ya Kev, take care and know that all things happen though CHRIST, ALAN

  47. Kevin,
Just wanted to let you know that you are in our prayers this week while down helping Dan and Heidi. I know you will do a great job. A better and more experienced person couldn’t have filled the job better. Give Heidi a big hug from me and let her know that she has been in my thoughts and prayer daily and I will continue to pray for her. I know this has got to be very stressful for her.
Tell Dan he’s continually in our thoughts and prayers also and if you get a chance to see him again give him a hug for us also . Tell Dan and Heidi that we love them and are praying that Dan will be up to making the trip home by this week-end. Love, Sheri

  48. Kevin

had the opportunity to pray for him over the phone. I wish there was more I could do for him, but I know God is in control and whatever happens is by His choice. Thanks for being willing to be used by God unexpectedly this week, and putting your family second which is not always easy. Thanks for inspirering me with your willingness to serve. I’ll continue to pray for you and Dan and Heidi, the team , the staff, and the Guatemala people. In Christ , Love ya, Alan
